Happy New Year! It’s that time of year again when we get to start fresh. Whether you set your resolutions, goals or intentions, my hope for you is that all of you have a wonderful new year! I’ve been doing so much thinking about where and what I’d like to do with my blog this year. Looking over last year’s goals, I see there are some that I crushed and some that need more attention. This year, of course, I have new goals and I want to share them with you today.
Beauty Content – I feel like I fell a bit short with beauty content. I’m hoping to add more to it this year, but my focus will be more anti-aging skin care, hair care products and bath & beauty as well. Of course, there will be a sprinkle of make-up related content as well. I am still a make-up junkie at heart so, of course, that’s not going to change.
Disney Content – Last year, I wrote all about our Disney vacation memories. So, the trip is over and all has been revealed; but, that won’t stop me from talking Disney!! I love it; no secret there! I have a few things that I’m thinking of, one of which includes a year of Disney recipes. Cooking and baking have become a huge part of my life during quarantine and I’m ready to branch out and add some Disney recipes to the mix. If you love to cook, bake or just eat Disney food and treats, please stay tuned … I’m cooking up something magical very soon!
Autism/Special Needs Parenting – When I look back on blog posts from last year, I want to continue to give an avenue where dads can come talk freely about their perspectives as an autism dad. I also want to talk and interview others in the autism community. We can learn so much more! I want to use my blog as a platform for autism awareness, education and promoting inclusion in the world we live in.
My Story – My story continues and I will be sharing more of my past journal entries as well. Last year, I decided to share some of those stories with you on my social media platforms. (I hope you are following me 😊.) I am going to try to be consistent by sharing a journal entry on a monthly basis. There are plenty of stories to tell. I mean, seriously, I’ve been journaling since I was a baby, I will not run out of stories any time soon!
It’s The Little Things (Monthly Favorites) – I will continue to bring my favorites of anything I feel would be of interest to you. There are so many monthly favorites on blogs, YouTube and social media, that sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I realized this past year, I don’t need a lot of “things” just because others have them. Less is more and, if I share anything with you, it’s because it truly is a favorite of mine, but It’s something I think you may love too!
Social Media – I really hope you are following me on my social media accounts. First, I love being able to interact with you and I find it the easiest way to communicate during the day. However, this year, I’m adding one more piece of social media for you to follow – YouTube! Yes, I’ve decided that I will be bringing “Lovealwaysjoann.com” to YouTube. However, please don’t expect any daily or weekly vlogs. I’ve held off on becoming a part of the YouTube community because of two things – privacy and time. Now, I can hear you saying, “Joann, you share your personal journals and everything else already; how is privacy an issue?” As an autism mom, I am not comfortable in sharing my day in a vlog when it comes to my kids. I give a lot of credit to those autism families who produce daily, weekly etc., blogs/vlogs to share their autism life! It’s just not me. So, what exactly will I be sharing? I believe in the YouTube world, they are calling them “shorts.” I would like to share moments like I did over the holidays – sharing afternoon tea with my sister and things like that. I have a few ideas and it will probably be awhile before I do the next one, but I’m willing to give it a try. So, before I go any further, my YouTube channel is now public, so please go subscribe, watch the shorts that I’ve already uploaded, “like” and I’ll see you again soon! So, this is it! Let’s get this new year started and, hopefully, it will be a more peaceful one for all of us. We’ve been through a lot this past year. Let’s try to make a positive impact and make the world a better place for all of us. I’d love to hear your goals or plans for the new year in the comments below.
