I’ve been wanting to take my boys to Walt Disney World since the day they were born. I remember telling my mom I wanted to plan a trip around their 5th birthday. Well their 5th birthday came and went and so did the trip. Life happens and all the plans you make along the way don’t always happen. This past February, my husband said to me, I think we can plan a trip to Disney for some time in 2019. At first I thought to myself, is he serious? Did he really say Disney World or did I imagine that? When I realized that he definitely said Disney, I had visions of Mickey Mouse ears on my head. The last time I was at Disney World was 2001. I’m so ready to go! You don’t have to ask me twice. Disney here we come!
What started as a trip for four, slowly became a party of 14 adults and 2 kids. Our entire immediate family is going to Disney in November 2019.
When I started to plan and think about where we would stay, there were many things to take into consideration. Let’s face it, a trip to Disney World isn’t inexpensive, so we had to work within everyone’s budget. Because we’re such a large group, we decided to stay off property and rent a home large enough to accommodate all of us. A few years ago, my cousin and his family did the same thing so he suggested I try the company, “Home Away.” I’m happy to say I was able to find a home with 9 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms! It has a pool and hot tub, game room and it’s located close to Walt Disney World. It’s perfect for us and we are all so excited about it. I’ll tell you more about it in future posts and will definitely give you a full review after our trip. Even though we have a way to go, it’ll be here before we know it.
So much has changed since I was there and I’ve been reading blogs, watching a crazy amount of Disney related YouTube videos, and stalking the Disney website, just to get myself up to date on the ins and outs of planning a trip to Disney World. So now I’d like to ask you for suggestions, tips and general help to help make out first family trip a success. Please feel free to share as I will continue to keep you in the loop of our Disney trip as we go along.
