When we started to plan our trip to Disney, we knew it wouldn’t be in the budget for us to stay at a Disney Resort. We also knew we had 16 people to accommodate and it would take a rather large home to fit us all comfortably.
Last year, I wrote about the rental home we found on Homeaway.com. If you missed it, you can read all about it here. I am so happy to say, the home was perfect for us!
We were able to check into our rental home after 3:00PM. When we arrived in Orlando, our family members all began arriving about the same time. We all had one common goal in mind – food shopping! We knew we had to stock up on the essentials and we made a stop at the local grocery store, Publix. Since we drove down to Florida, we were able to pack many of the things we would need already, so for us, it was just picking up the refrigerated items. After stopping at the Publix, we were off to find our rental home.
We checked in at the clubhouse to get our parking pass and any other instructions we needed for the week. The clubhouse was beautiful and the grounds around the community were very well maintained. We arrived at the rental home first and it was the perfect time for me to take a video of all the rooms. I’m going to insert the video footage here if I’m able to. If not, you can see it on IGTV.

The home was beautiful. We walked into a very large open floor plan featuring the kitchen, dining room and family room. There were two bedrooms and two baths on the first floor as well. Off the entrance was a large mudroom, laundry room and entrance to the garage. One of the best things about this home was having access to our own private pool and hot tub!
The large open kitchen was stocked with enough utensils, cups, glasses and dishes for everyone. There were two refrigerators that we were able to take advantage of for stocking up on what we needed for the week.
The home featured a two-car garage and we could park up to six cars on the street. It was also convenient to be able to do some laundry while we were there as well.
Making our way upstairs, it had another large living room area with a TV, pool table and a card table. There was plenty of room for everyone to fit comfortably. All of the remaining bedrooms and baths were upstairs as well. In total, the home had nine bedrooms and six bathrooms!
All of the bedrooms were equipped with linens, some starter toiletry products and extra pillows, blankets and linens, which were provided. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were all clean. The rooms were spacious and everyone in our family had their own bedroom.
One of the other great features of the home was its location. We were so close to the entrances of all the parks. We were able to get there on most days within 15 minutes.
If you ask my boys what their favorite part of the house was, I’m pretty sure they would say the community pool area. The pool was very large and they had a small water slide area. Surrounding the pool was a lazy river that, from my understanding, was anything but lazy. Alex said it moved rather quickly around the pool.
The community also had a clubhouse, restaurant, tennis and basketball courts.
We were all very happy with our rental home and we spent a week making memories with our family that we will all remember for years to come. Our last few moments in the house together were very special. We all toasted to a beautiful week filled with love and family.

As we were getting ready to leave, Alex was so upset. He didn’t want to leave his room or the pool, but most of all, the comfort of having his entire family under one roof. I felt the same. As I was helping Alex with his shoes, he started to cry. Then I started to cry. It was an emotional moment for all of us. I told him, not to cry, that we would be back one day. He insisted that he wanted all of us to come back to the same exact house. I told him, we would do our best, but I assured him, we will return to Walt Disney World again. Promise!

If you have any questions about the home we rented or just about renting a property at Disney in general, I will be happy to help. This home is listed on HomeAway.com and you can find this specific home here.
