I am so happy that the Cheeseburger Pods from Disney’s Satu ‘li Canteen is the recipe you all voted on to make together! I’ve always wanted to try this in person but never had a chance to on my last visit to Animal Kingdom. I know that this is a popular pick among Disney fans and I am sure they are delicious!
As promised below you will find the recipe with the ingredients and directions. You can print this out and take it with you to the supermarket to buy all the ingredients. It will also be handy to reference while we do this together.
Cheeseburger Pods
Equipment
- 1 Steamer basket
- Parchment paper
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground beef (Lean recommended 96/4)
- 1/2 cup Ketchup
- 2 tbsp Yellow mustard
- 4 tbsp Dill pickle relish (not sweet relish!)
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese (fresh or bag)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 3 cans Refrigerated Biscuit dough (not flaky or grands!)
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season with garlic powder and salt and pepper, to taste. Reduce heat to medium.
- Add in mustard, ketchup, and relish. Stir to combine. Let it come to a simmer for a minute or two.
- Turn off the heat and stir in shredded cheese until melted and combined.
- Cut parchment paper into palm-sized circles and set aside.
- Pop open biscuit cans and roll out (or just smoosh with your hand) each one into a flat disc slightly smaller than your hand.
- Place the wrapper on your work surface or in your palm and add 1-2 tbsp of filling. Begin pleating the dough. (Make sure your dough has no holes in it)
- Repeat with remaining biscuits.
- Load your steamer pan to not overcrowd the buns.
- Bring two or so inches of water in your pot/pan (depending on your setup) to a boil. Once boiling, insert the steamer pan and cover. Let cook for 15 minutes.
The last thing we need to do is to figure out a date. I am sure it will be either a Saturday or Sunday, so everyone has more flexibility to join me. Also, if you had a chance to join me on my Live stream test yesterday, obviously, I have a few things to work out technically. I am confident that it’s an easy fix.
Please be sure to continue to check my social media accounts for updates as we move forward to having our first Cook with me Live stream! Be sure you are subscribed to my YouTube channel so you can either join in or follow along.
So, who is ready to cook with me? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you.
