As of today, I have 141 days to my Disney trip! If I could I would start packing today, but since that is probably something I should hold off on, today I will share my Animal Kingdom Disney Goals with you. By the look at the crowd calendar, this will probably be the first park we visit during our trip. My son Alex is excited about this one because he loves learning all about animals. I think the safari is really going to be his favorite.
The last time I was at Animal Kingdom, it had just opened a few years earlier. It was the only park my sister and I had visited on our own, as the rest of my family had already left for home. We didn’t really know what it was going to be like, and we just decided to do and see as much as we could that day. I honestly don’t remember much from our last visit. I do remember the safari and going to see a Lion King show. That’s about it. Obviously, it has grown and added many new attractions since I was there last. I’ve made my list so let’s get started.
Attractions / Rides
Avatar Flight of Passage – I understand that it’s difficult to get a Fast Pass for this and the wait times are long, so, I’m not sure if this will be a reality this trip. I hope so because this is probably the one ride that I’ve been looking forward to since planning this trip. I’m not sure how my son Michael would be on this, so I doubt he will go on it. I am sure Alex can handle it, if he meets the height requirements by that time. Please say a prayer to the Fast Pass Gods for me, I want to get on this ride!!
Kilimanjaro Safaris – This is the one ride I remember from my first trip to Animal Kingdom. I loved it and I know my boys are going to really enjoy this one. From what I have seen of vlogs, and reading online, it seems to be longer than when I first did it, so I think this may be an attraction that would make a nice sit-down break if we need it.
The Animation Experience at Conservation Station – Opening July 11, 2019 – Obviously, since this will be a new attraction, I’m thinking this is more like a wish than a goal. When I read about it online, I thought this sounds like so much fun. No matter your skill level, they are going to teach you step by step how to illustrate your own Disney character. Like I said more of a wish than a goal. We will see how it goes.
Kali River Rapids – I welcome any opportunity to cool off if the weather is hot that day. Seriously, I’m afraid of the ocean and when my feet can’t touch the ground, but when it comes to river rapid rides, I’m in. I think it will be fun to get splashed a little and remember I have ponchos for everyone!
Food & Snack
Night Blossom – This nonalcoholic drink is the signature drink at Pandora and I’m really looking forward to trying it.
Cheeseburger Pod – Over at Satu’li Canteen they serve these pods that look delicious. I’ve been eyeing them for a while now. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone say they didn’t like it.
Buffalo Chicken Chips – Over at Trilo-Bites, they are serving up this snack that everyone keeps talking about. Looks like a great idea for a snack or even a lunchtime meal for me.
Lastly, I would really love to see the Rivers of Light that is happening that evening at 6:30. I’m going to do my best to see if Michael can make it until then. I understand the show isn’t that long and even if he needs to sleep, we will always have the stroller with us. This is too beautiful to miss and maybe Michael will be able to stay awake (and happy) long enough to see it too.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Animal Kingdom again. All of my Disney goals are taken with a grain of salt. We may or may not get to everything and that’s okay too. So, what did I miss? Is there anything you would recommend that we see, do or eat at Animal Kingdom? I’d love to hear in the comments below.
