I honestly don’t have much to share with you from the month of December. I was so busy with the holidays, and my boys, I hardly had time to think. However, here are a few of my favorites to share with you today.

Home and Home Decor
Bath & Body Works Hot Cocoa Candle: I loved this new scent! I had this candle lit the entire month of December. I am always leery of ordering candles online because I am so scent sensitive, but this one is a keeper. I figured that this would be a good scent and if I had any left, I could burn into the winter. I don’t think this one will see much of January, never mind the winter.
Caldrea – Countertop Spray: I really love the scent of this countertop cleaner. Again, scents can either make or break a product for me, but this one is a winner. I purchased this through Grove Collaborative and I have a link for you to try a five-piece gift set. https://www.grove.co/referrer/36200593/
Clothing & Accessories
Luyeess Women’s Straps Off Shoulder High Waist Ruffled Long Wide Leg Jumpsuit: Lately I’ve been trying out clothing from Amazon. Honestly, it seems to be a hit or miss when it comes to quality and sizes. I was fortunate to hit big with this jumpsuit and I love it! I wore it for my Anniversary dinner, my company Christmas party, and my sister and brother-in-law’s vow renewal party. It’s very comfortable and stylish.
Entertainment Books, TV & Movies
Hallmark Channel Christmas Movies: I’m not sure how but I managed to fit in a few of the Christmas movies this month. Some I had to watch over a few sittings, but I was happy to be able to see a few of them. Until next year, I enjoyed what I was able to watch.
The last thing I wanted to share was a follow-up to my 12 Days of Christmas post 2, “What will you bring to the table?” I really wanted to make this Christmas better than the last few years for various reasons. I tried I really did but I had a few moments when I wanted to rip down the tree and run for the hills. Every day is the same and different all the time. I’m not even sure if that would make sense to anyone, but this is our reality. We have days where we can get through without any incidents and then there are days that autism has a different plan for us. So, I made a little check list to see how well I did for bringing it to the table in December.
Was I able to bake Christmas Cookies? Yes! Although I didn’t get to make all the different ones I had planned, I did get to make them and with my boys, so that was a first for us and hopefully a tradition we will be able to continue next year.
Did we get to see the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center? Yes! Well, I’m going to be honest with you, it was a drive-by. We started out the day thinking we were going to visit Santa. When the lines were long into the summer months, we decided to ditch Santa and hit the city to see the tree. The problem was it was a last minute decision and we weren’t dressed warm enough to walk around and the traffic was a nightmare (No surprise there). But we were able to ride around the city, see all the Christmas decorations, and the tree, so I would say it was successful. Next year, we will get out of the car (God willing).
On that note, no, my husband and I did not get to take our solo trip into the city or visit the Holiday market. I’m a little disappointed about it, but there is always next year.
When we finally got our tree up, we did it while Michael was awake this year. We had some technical difficulties, as the lights attached to our tree died. So, we had to run out get some string lights and use them instead. The string lights were a nightmare for us as Michael loves anything with a string. Therefore, for the entire month of December, it was pretty much a given that you would hear one of us saying, “Michael, don’t touch the lights.” I contemplated taking it down, but I decided to ignore my impulses and just go with it.
I would say overall, we did pretty good. Even Christmas day was very relaxing, and we had a great time. It was worth the effort to try to overcome some of my usual sadness during this time of the year and opening my heart to be able to enjoy the holidays once again.
Did you have any favorites from December? I would love to hear what made the month special for you.
