Day 6 – Christmas in Positano
Christmas in Positano on the Amalfi coast sounds so inviting, doesn’t it? For many of us, unfortunately, it’s not possible. However, I thought it would be fun to take you there another way. I’ve been subscribed and addicted to YouTuber, NickiPositano, for quite some time now. I found her quite by accident and I’m so glad I did.
During my recovery from surgery, I spent hours on YouTube, trying to make the time go by with as many distractions as possible. I became addicted to watching beauty influencers and somehow, I came across Nicki’s channel while she was doing make-up on a bride in Positano. Not only is she a talented make-up artist but her channel is a pleasure to watch.
Positano, is located on Italy’s beautiful Amalfi Coast. I had the pleasure of visiting during my honeymoon and absolutely fell in love with it. I was amazed at its picturesque views everywhere you turned. The blue ocean, the food, the charming little shops along the coast are all part of the Amalfi Coast experience. My husband and I just loved it. It was our favorite place to visit during our honeymoon.
Nicki is from England; a make-up artist and her channel is focused on her every day life living in Positano. You will often see her on her kayak (with her adorable dog Holly), taking hikes and riding her scooter along the beautiful Amalfi Coast. She lives with her partner Carlo and they have the most amazing garden I’ve ever seen.
One of the best parts of watching Nicki’s channel is how she really gives you an overview of all the surrounding areas of the Amalfi Coast. Some of her videos have featured Capri, Sorrento, Naples and Ravello. She also includes some personal travels to and from England and during her holidays. She will also show you around some of the hotels in the area as she is often doing wedding make-up during the summer season. You get to see all the sights, sounds and breathtaking views the Amalfi Coast has to offer.
Last year, she shared videos featuring Christmas traditions along the coast. One of my favorites is the Sorrento Christmas Lights 2017. Everything from the music, the beautiful sunset and how Nicki explains all the sights is just breathtaking. Her video transports you to the beauty of the Christmas lights surrounded by the lemon trees of Sorrento. She also takes you down the cobblestone streets to see how the shops decorate their windows during the holidays.
Another video I would recommend watching is A live Nativity scene in Positano – Montepertuso. For one evening the entire village of Montepertuso goes back in time so you can experience Roman soldiers, donkeys, angels and try the food and wine from more than 100 years ago. It was really very interesting to watch, and I love how the entire village is involved.
I highly recommend you check out Nickipositano YouTube channel and you can also catch her on Instagram at Nickipositano as well. Nicki does Instagram stories every day and they are always so interesting to watch. Even when she shares her story that it’s a boring day, or it was raining, I always find it enjoyable. To me a bad day in Positano is still a good one! Nicki also has a blog and you can check it out here, www.nicolestorey.com.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little trip to Positano for Christmas. Have you ever been to the Amalfi Coast or Positano? I’d love to hear all about your trip.
